Home

We have now arrived home in Australia and have had sleepless nights (thanks to Mia and Wills body clock). I have today setup an Australian mobile phone number and can be contacted on +61 422 287 366.

One week to go :-(

Sadly, our wonderful European journey is nearly over. After nearly 4 years in Luxembourg, next week we fly back to Melbourne and move back into our home with Mia and Will. Yesterday we had a lovely sunny day in Luxembourg, so we took the opportunity to take a last photo down in the Grund. This photo will be a nice momento for Mia and Will when they are older.

Mia in a music video

Mia’s favourite music video right now is Alison Krauss, Paper Airplane. Mostly because Alison spends much of the video on a swing.  So, I edited one of Mia’s recent videos (on a swing), changed it to B&W and added her into the Alison Kraus video. Now that Mia is in the video, she watches it twice as much. 🙂

PS: Nice freeze frame of Mia at the end.

Sandra and Tamer

We had a visit from our German friends Sandra and Tamer last weekend. Nice to see them in Lux. We visited Schueberfouer and Julie decided to try one of the speed rides with Tamer. The ride went for about 8 minutes, but here’s a short look at the action.

Mia discovers Schueberfouer

Schueberfouer 2012 has started and sadly this is our last chance to experience our local Lux fun fair. It’s also the first time that Mia can enjoy the festivities. I walked behind her yesterday and took a video of her enjoying herself. She walked around clapping and smiling, so I am sure we will be back a few more times in the next 2 weeks.

Luxembourg Gare

In the city of Lux recently, was a public display showing a collection of photos of the Luxembourg Gare (train station). Below left is the front of the station taken in 1911, the middle is a photo I took this week (showing it hasn’t changed much in 100 years), and on the right is a photo from the rear of the station in 1944 showing damage after bombardment. Click the picture below to see a larger version, then back on your browser.

Kiddies update

Here’s some recent photos of Will & Mia.

The “hat” that Mia is wearing is a bassinet for one of her dolls. It was a lovely gift from Julie’s friend Alison, but now, it has a new use as a hat…

The Star Trek outfit I purchased ages ago in New York and the Liverpool soccer club outfit was a gift from my mate Gareth in the UK.

Somebodies: A YouTube Orchestra

Melbourne muso Gotye has made a You Tube Orchestra mix of his wonderful hit “Somebody that I used to know”.  Great song, nice editing.

If you haven’t seen his original song video, it’s well worth watching. Click HERE.

Also worth watching is the Dutch choir version. Click HERE.
