What a week in Hong Kong and Zhongshan China, with nearly 100 of our top customers from around the world. It was a fantastic event culminating in a dinner on Friday night with our entire company work force, which is over 2,500 people (90% of them from our Chinese factory). We all had a fantastic time.

Photos above are: (Left) myself with Ian Flowers (Behringer Australia) and Uli Behringer, The 3 VP's of sales, Preston –  USA (left), Mike – AMEA (middle), Me – EU (right). Middle photo, Ian, myself and Nick Bava, the Australians enjoying a drink. Amsterdam – Gabs 16th Birthday

Franz BauerClooneyDeppRobbieGab-hardrock

Happy Birthday Gab, 16 on the 16th. Today was Gabs choice, and it was the Amsterdam Madame Tussauds in the afternoon and Hard Rock Cafe’ for dinner. There’s some photos from the wax museum above and although it was a fun afternoon, the Amsterdam version is not as good as the London version we saw last year. Still fun though.

Hard Rock was great fun and the staff stopped the restaurant, announced Gabs 16th Birthday and sang Happy Birthday to her. Very cool..
Also check out the video of us from today in the cold (on the left). Please click to play.

Amsterdam (for holiday, hurrah…)

Canal2YourownsillyfaultAnnefrankCannabisCanal1

Late Saturday afternoon we drove up to Amsterdam to start our 4 day holiday. (Gab is on school holidays this week). We have had a terrific few days, although it has been very cold. Sunday we visited the Van Gogh museum, and did a canal boat cruise, Monday we visited the Anne Frank house, checked out the city centre and surrounding shops and finished with a great dinner at a local Indonesian restaurant (there are plenty of them in Amsterdam). Tuesday is Gabs 16th birthday, so we allowed her to decide how to spend the day, so it is Madame Tussauds in the afternoon and dinner at Hard Rock Cafe'.

This week in… Eastern Europe

I spent all this week travelling with Mike Van Der Logt in the snow of Eastern Europe. 12 flights in 5 days. I flew from Lux to Amsterdam, then onto Romania. Tuesday to Poland, Wednesday to Slovakia and Thursday to Bulgaria. Finished back in Amsterdam on Friday where I met up with Julie and Gabby for our few days holiday.

It was a fruitful trip (business wise) to the coldest places I have every been. The photos on the left show me at 6am about to board another plane (this time in Gdansk Poland), and below the Czech airlines planes we boarded numerous times.6am-flightCzech-air

Cold January weekend…

This weekend was very cold but still good fun. Julie and I went for a walk into the centre of the city today (Sunday) to get some exercise and take some photos of our beautiful city under snow, (Gab stayed home to do homework). Above, there are two pictures on the left and two videos on the right. The top video is from Friday night. We drove to the shops in the snow and 20 minutes later, our car was covered in it. The bottom video was today. Tomorrow, (Monday) I will drive back to our office in Willich Germany and I will stay there until Thursday night. The following week I am off to Romania, Poland, Slovenia and Bulgaria so I have a couple of busy weeks away from home coming up…

This week in… Anaheim USA. NAMM show 2010

Mike & MickStandUliLee Ritenour

Last week I flew to the USA for the years biggest music trade show, NAMM 2010. Long 11 hour flight to LAX then a 1 hour drive down to Anaheim. The convention centre is across the road from DisneyLand and usually nice warm weather. Not so this year. Temperatures were mostly in the teens. It was the busiest show I have worked for 10 years. I had appointments every hour for the 3 trade days of the show. Our pre show product launch was also a huge hit, and Uli Behringer had a great night getting up to play keys and jam with legendary guitarist Lee Ritenour. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJiGvCnT-9U

(My thanks to my mate & colleague Mike Van Der Logt for his photos).

40 degree turnaround…

We have arrived back safely in Luxembourg and after the high 30’s temperatures of Melbourne’s summer, we are now back into the freezing cold of winter in Europe. It has snowed quite heavily today, and here’s the view from our balcony tonight. Driving in the snow was slow and steady today and the traffic is noticeably disastorous in this weather.

I’m off the the US on Monday for the NAMM show in Anaheim so I leave the cold behind for a week and enjoy the slightly warmer California weather.

Summer Holidays in Australia

Julie, Gabby and I flew home on December 18th for Christmas with the family. Our time here has passed very quickly and we now have only two days until the long flight back to Europe.

For Christmas, Julies parents gave us tickets to see the Jersey Boys which is a live show on at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne. The show is the story of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. We went along last night and it was a very enjoyable show, the music and singing was terrific. I highly recommend seeing it.

I’ve managed a few games of golf, a day at the cricket (MCG), and some relaxing during our stay, and the weather has been great. It will be 35 degrees today and will remain hot for tonights New Years Eve celebrations.

Happy New Year to everyone and we will be back in Luxembourg next Monday, Jan 4th.

SNOW !!!

This afternoon (Sunday) we had our first snow of the season. Not a lot, but a very pretty sight from our lounge room window. Click the video to play Gabby and I enjoying this special  occassion. Today it rocketed up to an impressive 2 degrees, and is supposed to get colder later this week, so we are leaving for Australia at the right time it seems. We leave Lux this Wednesday night, take the fast train to Paris, stay overnight in Paris then board our long flight to Melbourne on Thursday morning. We arrive back in Melbourne on Friday night for 2 relaxing weeks. My first game of golf in 9 months can’t happen quickly enough…
