More plane travel

After xmas at home in Melbourne with the family, and a few days back in Lux this week, I am off to the US tomorrow for the annual Music trade fair, the NAMM show. I will be in the US for two weeks (first week in Anaheim and second week at the Samson office in New York). Julie and Mia are still in Melbourne enjoying the warmer weather and come back to Lux on Jan 26th, our anniversary. At least I remembered that…

Half way home

Monday night Melbourne time and we are half way home. I am writing this in Singapore’s magnificent Changi airport.  We have completed the 12 hour Frankfurt to Singapore flight and Mia was terrific. She slept in her bassinet although Julie & I didn’t get much sleep as with every turbulence call (4 in the first 4 hours), Mia was dragged out of the bassinet and put on Julies lap. The Singapore airlines staff were fantastic however. They were all over Mia and extremely helpful right throughout the flight. Gab did well, she found 3 spare seats down the back and managed to lie down and get 5 hours sleep. Now one more flight to go…

Paris Blizzard

I was in Paris yesterday, travelling through to Nantes. I had to take the Paris Metro from Paris Est to Montparnasse. The weather in Paris was dreadful. It was a howling wind blowing a huge snow storm. I took photos but there’s nothing to see but white. According to Julie, that snow storm went through Lux late yesterday afternoon and caused huge chaos here also.

Friday night out in the city!

Tonight we hit the town to check out the Lux xmas market. It was below zero, but we bravely walked into town (about 15 minutes), and when we got too cold, we went to Pizza Hut for dinner. Mia woke up in the Hut and immediately charmed the waitresses with her cute coy smiles. Then back into her warm pram and off home to bed. Here is some video of us out in the cold.

Mia in the snow

We took Mia out into the snow this week for her “snow baby” photo shoot. It was extremely cold, but she was very snug in her bright red snow outfit, complete with gloves.

Snow, slide, bang

The snow has arrived in Europe in a big way. Last night we watched from our lounge room window as cars slid back down the hill on the snow. Our street is usually salt sprayed and it was fine all day but the evening spray was a bit late and you can watch the result here. Amazing…

We went for a chilly walk today into town and they were preparing the centre of town for the Christmas markets. Here’s a short clip of the action…

Poor Mia

No photos of Mia today. Unfortunately our little bub has a bout of gastro, which she must have picked up at playgroup this week. She has been vomiting and for the first time ever has lost her endless energy. We had her to the Doctor today and we are trying to keep her fluids up but it is horrible to watch our little girl looking sad….

Jumperoo

Just over a week ago, Julie purchased a jumperoo for Mia from Amazon UK. It’s a stand alone beast that allows kids to bounce and play with a rotating insert so they can also turn around 360 degrees. When Mia first got it in, she just sat there, a bit confused. Now, a week later her little legs are going strong and she bounces around having a great time. Here’s a few pics and a video of Mia in action.

Last week in… New York !

I had a successful week in New York last week and arrived safely back in Lux on Monday night. I had Sunday to myself so I went into Manhattan and did some shopping and took in the great views from the top of the Rockefeller building. It was 20 years since I had visited New York, and I forgot just how HUGE this place is. Well worth visiting.
