Sunday May 10th – Italy (Video – Click to play)

After a 90 minute flight from Koln to Bologna (on Germanys cheap airline called German Wings), our Italian rep Matteo picked up myself and Thomas Huebner and we drove for 2 hours to Porto Recanati.

This is a beach side town on the East Coast of Italy and the home of our Italian distributor Frenexport. We had a nice seafood dinner at a restaurant by the beach on Sunday night, and then today (Monday) had a meeting at their nice new office for 3 hours in the morning.

This is the view from my hotel room on Sunday night. A few hours after this, the whole area was packed and the streets busy until midnight. The weather is beautiful here (27 degrees today) and Italy is certainly a lot warmer than Germany.

The end of our Holiday..

HC5HC2HC3HC6clive&helen

Our holiday was coming to an end. On Saturday we took a train out to Hampton Court Palace, home of King Henry VIII in the 1500's. A magnificent palace with the most beautiful gardens surrounding it. Saturday night we went to the cinema to see Wolverine. A great "boys" movie as the girls didn't seem to like it too much.

Sunday was our last day in London before flying back to reality. We met up with Clive and Helen Burns (Clive is our Behringer main man in the UK). We had lunch at an 800 year old English pub. A very relaxing way to finish our holiday.

London

Friday in London was a big day. Julie worked in the morning, so Gabby & I went to the Tower of London, then checked out the Tower bridge. In the afternoon we all went on the London Eye. What a great view you get from the top. It looks out over Big Ben and is a terrific attraction. Friday night was topped off by going to the Lyceam Theatre to see the Lion King live on stage. Fantastic !!!

Gabby & I visited Madame Tussaud's waxworks in London on Thurs April 30th. (Julie had to work)…

Here we are with some of the special guests at the Museum. It took forever to get in, but it was worth the wait. A great place to visit.

Disneyland Paris and dinner with CB – April 27th 2009

Gab-disneySullyMain-stCB

Monday April 27th was spent at DisneyLand Paris. We went on two rollercoasters (yes one was Space Mountain 2), caught up with Sully from Monsters Inc and had a very enjoyable day. On Monday night we had dinner with good mate Chris Brasher. CB had a very serious motor bike accident in Feb and was laid up in hospital for about 6 weeks. He has lost the big toe on his left foot and is hobbling around on crutches. Other than that, he's fine…  but really he's lucky to still be with us.

Great to catch up with him and have a fantastic meal at one of his local Parisien restaurants. Thx CB !

Our European visit left Luxembourg and moved onto Paris where we enjoyed all the tourist spots. Here is the family at the Louvre, Jules (caught offguard) at the Metro, and a photo I took from the middle of the road on the Champs Elysees.

Luxembourg (Video – click to play)

Julie, Gabby & I finally got the chance to see Luxembourg for the first time today (Tuesday April 21st). After the long flight Melbourne to Frankfurt, we got in our beautiful Volvo XC70 hire car and drove the 2 1/2 hours to Luxembourg.

As you can see in the pic, our first day here was perfect. It was quite warm (low 20's) sunny all day and the city is very picturesque. Here's the beautiful gardens overlooking one of the main bridges in Luxembourg city. We spent the afternoon walking around the city taking in the sites (and trying to stay awake).

Wiesbaden

Saturday April 4th is the last day of the Frankfurt Music trade fair and its public day, so I wisely did not attend. I spent the day with mates Mat Bolt and Nick Mitchell and we drove across to Wiesbaden, a very nice town about 45 mins drive from Frankfurt. Here is some live brass band music in the streets of Wiesbaden.

Finally, Mat Bolt uses his extensive German translation skills to explain what is going on here…

Dinner in Frankfurt

Thursday night after a day at the Frankfurt Music trade show and Mike, Eric and I went to the centre of Frankfurt for dinner. Frankfurt was surprisingly warm this year. Here we are sitting outside at 7pm in short sleeve shirts. Normally unheard of this time of year.

This Italian restaurant is opposite the Opera house in Frankfurt and the food was terrific.
